Mmatema Moremi

Mmatema Moremi is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, and television presenter who views her music as a form of ministry. She was born on February 26, 1992, in Zebediela, Limpopo, South Africa. Moremi first gained national attention in 2015 as the runner-up on the eleventh season of Idols South Africa.

Before her rise to prominence, she earned a B-Tech degree in Applied Languages and Linguistics from the Tshwane University of Technology, where she was also a member of the Tshwane Gospel Choir. Since her time on Idols, Moremi has built a career centered on gospel music and media. She founded her own record label, Mmatema Moremi Media Productions, and has worked as a television presenter for gospel-focused programs, including Gospel Unplugged on SABC1.

Moremi’s discography includes the album Love. Praise. Worship (2020), as well as the singles "Yahweh" and "Ke Lerato." She also released a live album titled Heart of Gratitude (Live). Her work has taken her to events such as the Crown Gospel Awards. She describes herself as a born-again Christian committed to ministry through her music and media presence.

In recognition of her contributions, Moremi was nominated for Best Female Personality and Best Newcomer at the Mzansi Christian Awards. She also made history as the first artist to host a one-woman show at the South African State Theatre's Opera.
