Mercy Wairegi

Mercy Wairegi is a Kenyan gospel singer, songwriter, and pastor. She began singing at the age of five in Sunday school at the Deliverance Church. She attended Flamingo Primary School and Menengai High School before earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Purchases and Supplies Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). During her time at JKUAT, she led worship sessions in conjunction with Nairobi Chapel.

Her debut single, “Kama Sio Wewe,” was released in 2007. The following year she released her debut audio album, also titled Kama Sio Wewe. She recorded her second album, Nuru, in 2011 and released it in 2012. Over the course of her career, Wairegi has recorded a number of songs, including “Ila Wewe,” “Hutaniacha,” “Nifunike,” “Nakutazamia,” “Umetukuka,” “Mchungaji Wangu,” and “Wewe Ni Nuru.” In addition to her music, she continues to serve as a pastor, ministering through both song and teaching.
