Ben Githae

Ben Githae is a Kenyan gospel musician who has been active in the music industry since 1996. Born John Githae Kamita, he grew up in Gatundu, Kenya, and attended Muthurumbi Primary School and Ituro High School. His musical journey began simply, singing for coffee pickers in his youth, and he also worked in a posho mill owned by his grandparents.

In 1994, Githae made a personal commitment to his faith and began composing gospel music together with Jane Muthoni. This period of his life marked a turning point toward a dedicated ministry in song. He released his debut album, “Mwiri Uyu,” in 1996, establishing himself as a recording artist in the Kenyan gospel scene.

Githae is known for singing primarily in the Kikuyu language, and his catalog includes songs such as “Irathimo Ciakwa,” “Maya Ni Mabataro,” “Ngai Munyenderi Mega,” “Niliota Ndoto,” “Timiza Maono,” “Tano Tena,” and “Gukuagira Gukira.” Through his music, he has shared his faith with a wide audience over several decades.
