Majesty Rose

Majesty Rose is an American singer and songwriter. She was born Majesty Rochelle York on February 29, 1992, in Goldsboro, North Carolina, and worked as a preschool teacher prior to her appearance on the thirteenth season of American Idol, where she finished in ninth place. She taught herself to play the acoustic guitar at age seventeen and began writing songs at age ten.

Following American Idol, she released an EP titled Bloom in 2016 and a single titled "Plunge" in 2017. She then collaborated with the collective Maverick City Music on several projects, including Maverick City Vol. 2 (2019), Maverick City Vol. 3 Part 1 (2020), and Maverick City Christmas (2020). Her vocals appear on songs such as "You Keep On Getting Better," "Love is a Miracle" featuring Bri Babineaux, and "Joyful Joyful We Adore Thee/Angels We Have Heard On High."

The collaboration Maverick City Vol. 2 peaked at number 11 on Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart. Both Maverick City Vol. 3 Part 1 and Maverick City Christmas reached the top five on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart.
