About Cory Asbury
Cory Asbury is a Christian musician, songwriter, and former worship pastor. He was born Cory Hunter Asbury on October 15, 1985, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He began leading worship in church at age 14 and pursued full-time worship ministry starting in 2005 at the International House of Prayer. In 2015, he joined the Bethel Music collective. Asbury has also served as a worship pastor at New Life Church and Radiant Church.
His 2018 album Reckless Love reached the top of the Billboard Christian Albums chart. The album’s title single, “Reckless Love,” spent 18 weeks at No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart and is certified 3x Platinum by the RIAA. The song earned Asbury a Grammy nomination in 2019 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. In 2018, he won three GMA Dove Awards, including Song of the Year, Worship Song of the Year, and Worship Album of the Year.
Asbury later released the album To Love a Fool in 2020, which included the single “The Father’s House.” That single reached No. 1 on Billboard’s year-end Christian AC Songs chart. He released Pioneer in 2023 and Cover to Cover in 2025. Asbury is also an author; his devotional book Reckless Love: A 40-Day Journey Into the Overwhelming, Never-Ending Love of God was published alongside the album. He is married to Anna Asbury, and they have four children.
