Jabu Hlongwane

Goodman Mxolisi "Jabu" Hlongwane is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, producer, and pastor. He was born on June 10, 1961, in Zola, Soweto, South Africa. Hlongwane holds a degree in education and previously worked as a teacher and lecturer before turning fully to music ministry. In 1994, he co-founded the influential gospel choir Joyous Celebration alongside Lindelani Mkhize and Mthunzi Namba.

Hlongwane launched his solo music career around 1994. He leads a church known as Crosspower Ministries in Johannesburg, and he created the "Crosspower Experience" series, which features live worship and contemporary gospel music. He is also the author of the book Finding Meaning in the Journey of Life.

His recorded work includes the albums Crosspower Experience 3, Khaya Lami, Iculo Elisha, Vuma Moya Wam, and My Chapters. Among his well-known songs are "Wabethelwa," "Moya Ka Jehovah," and "Ntate Nthuse."

Hlongwane has been recognized for his contributions to gospel music. He received an award in the "Best Contribution in Gospel Music" category at the Africa Gospel Music Awards and has also been a recipient of South African Music Awards (SAMAs), both as part of Joyous Celebration and for individual recognition.
