Lawerence Flowers

Lawrence Flowers is an American gospel music singer, songwriter, producer, and educator. A native of Jacksonville, Florida, he studied musical performance and education at Florida State University, a foundation that informs his work as a musician and teacher. Flowers is the founder of the gospel ensemble Lawrence Flowers & Intercession, which he established in 2001.

The ensemble, an independent gospel group, has performed at notable venues including Carnegie Hall and for the President of the United States. Under Flowers’ leadership, the group has built a catalog that blends traditional gospel with contemporary influences. Their recorded work includes the albums MERGE and Champion, as well as the singles “More” and “Way,” and the songs “Contentment” and “Never Run Out.”

MERGE achieved significant chart recognition. It debuted at number two on Billboard’s Top Christian/Gospel Album chart, at number three on the Top Gospel Album Consumption chart, and reached number one on the iTunes Top 200 Christian/Gospel Digital Albums chart. Flowers continues to work as both a performer and an educator, maintaining an active presence in gospel music.
