Kanjii Mbugua

Kanjii Mbugua is a Kenyan-born gospel artist, worship leader, songwriter, and music producer. He studied music and vocal performance at Biola University and attended the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and the Dallas Sound Lab. In 1997, he was appointed Kenya’s Youth Ambassador to the world. While in the United States, he co-founded the urban gospel group Milele with friends Kiama Mwiti, Harry Kiiru, and Christian Mungai.

Mbugua established Kijiji Agency (formerly Kijiji Entertainment), a company focused on music recording, distribution, and event production. He has released several albums, including the 2019 project Set Us on Fire, and is also known for his participation in the Afrobeats Worship project. His recorded songs include “Mfalme Mkuu,” “Rauka,” “Mwanzo Na Mwisho,” “Not Gonna Worry,” “Whosoever (feat. Malachi Lucey) [Live],” “Revival In My Heart (Live),” “Bless the Lord (X 10,000) [feat. Rigga],” and “All of My Worship.”

His contributions to gospel music have been recognized with two Groove Awards: Male Artist of the Year in 2008 and Best Live Music Performer of the Year in 2009. Mbugua currently serves as a worship pastor at a church in California, continuing his ministry through music.
