Gene Moore

Gene Moore Jr. is a Houston-based singer and songwriter signed to Motown Gospel. Growing up as a pastor’s kid with parents involved in ministry, he was rooted in church life from an early age. He gained early choral experience as a member of the Southeast Inspirational Choir and later worked as a background vocalist for artists including Kirk Franklin, Israel Houghton, Fred Hammond, and Kim Burrell. Alongside his music career, Moore also served as a youth pastor and praise and worship leader.

Moore holds a bachelor’s degree in radio and television with a minor in advertising from Sam Houston State University. He applied that training to roles in radio at KWWJ Gospel 1360 AM and KSBJ-FM, further building his foundation in the media and music industries.

As a solo artist signed to Motown Gospel, Moore has released albums including The Future and Tunnel Vision, as well as the EP Introspection. His singles include “Won’t Be Moved,” “Recover,” “I Believe,” and “Beautiful.” He was also a featured artist on PJ Morton’s “The Better Benediction.”

Moore received a 2020 Grammy Award nomination for Best Gospel Album for Tunnel Vision and a 2023 Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song as a featured artist on “The Better Benediction.” His work blends gospel with soulful R&B influences, reflecting his background as a worship leader and his experience working across both sacred and contemporary settings.
