Betusile

Betusile Mcinga is a South African gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. He was born on November 25, 1982, in Willowvale and raised in Umtata, Eastern Cape, and is the son of renowned gospel artist Dr. Lusanda Mcinga. Growing up in a gospel-oriented home, he began his music career at age 14 as a keyboard player and backing vocalist for the Lusanda Spiritual Group, the ensemble led by his mother. He also wrote music for the group during those early years.

In 2008, Betusile launched his solo career with the album Mandibe Ngowakho. He followed it with Inceba Zika Jesu in 2010 and continued to release new work, including The Highest Praise in 2018 and Indumiso in 2021. His catalog includes songs such as “Zundithwale,” “Ngena Noah,” “Kuphelele,” and “Nyange Lemihla.” To support his own projects and other artists, he founded a record label originally called Betusile Music Entertainment, later renamed Nduna Events Management.

His music has received recognition at several South African awards. He won Song of the Year for “Zundithwale” at the 7th Crown Gospel Awards and later for “Ngena Noah” at the 2023 Metro FM Music Awards. He was named Artist of the Year at the 2017 Eastern Cape Music Awards and Best National Artist at the 2017 Mpumalanga Gospel Awards. Outside of recording, Betusile is involved in philanthropic work through the Betusile Mcinga Foundation, which supports schools and the less privileged in his home region.
