Samsong

Samsong, born Samson Uche Mogekwu on November 30, 1974, in Delta State, Nigeria, is a Nigerian gospel artist and minister. He holds a degree in Accounting from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, and is based in Abuja, Nigeria.

Samsong began his music career in the 1990s as a member of the gospel quartet Praise Creation. Following the disbandment of the group, he transitioned to a solo career. Among his recorded releases are the album Best of Life (1996) with Praise Creation, followed by solo albums Count Your Blessings (2002), Still Counting (2004), The World of My Dreams (2007), and Master of the World (2023). His song catalog also includes “Bianule” and “Odogwu,” the latter featuring Chioma Jesus.

Over the course of his ministry, Samsong has performed alongside gospel artists such as Marvin Winans, Donnie McClurkin, and Panam Percy Paul. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Psalmist Award (2002), Best Male Vocalist of the Year at the Today’s Music Awards (2004), Best Male Vocalist of the Year at The Amen Awards (2005), Best Video of the Year at The Vigoma Awards (2005), and the Grace Honorary Award for Excellence (2007).
