Van Zant

Van Zant is an American musical duo composed of brothers Johnny Van Zant and Donnie Van Zant, who turned to Christian music with their 2024 album Always Look Up. The brothers come from a well-known musical family; they are siblings of the late Ronnie Van Zant, the founding lead singer of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Johnny Van Zant has served as the lead vocalist for Lynyrd Skynyrd since 1987, while Donnie Van Zant is a co-founder and former lead singer of the band .38 Special.

The duo first recorded together in the 1980s, releasing Southern rock music before eventually disbanding. They reunited in 1998 and continued to perform, but it was not until 2024 that they released a full album centered on their Christian faith. Always Look Up was released through Frontiers Music and includes songs such as "Jesus Christ," "Help Somebody," "There You Are," and "It's Up To You." The brothers have stated that their faith and their father's influence were key inspirations for this shift in their musical direction.

"Help Somebody," a track from the album, reached the top ten on the country charts. The album marked a new chapter for the duo, who have spent decades in rock music but now express their beliefs through faith-centered songs.
