Laurell Hubick

Laurell Hubick is a Canadian singer-songwriter whose music has been part of the Christian and gospel community. She studied vocal jazz at the Capilano College Music Program in North Vancouver before releasing her debut full-length album, Into Your Love, in 2003. That album includes songs such as “Rest in You” and “Open.” Approximately eleven months later, she released a second album titled The Fool In Me, which features tracks including “Names of God,” “Lift,” and “Worthy.”

Hubick was a participant on the television show Canadian Idol. Her music also appeared on the Sea to Sea praise and worship compilation series, which collects songs from various Christian artists across Canada. One of her singles, “Great ‘I AM,’” earned the Song of the Year award at the Canadian People’s Choice Gospel Music Awards (Shai).

Through her albums and her work on the Sea to Sea series, Laurell Hubick has contributed to the landscape of Canadian Christian music with a sound rooted in her jazz-influenced vocal training and her focus on worship-oriented material.
