Pillar is an American Christian rock band formed in 1998 in Hays, Kansas, and later based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The band’s name is derived from 1 Timothy 3:15, which refers to the Church as the pillar and foundation of truth. Their core lineup consists of Rob Beckley on vocals, Noah Henson on guitar, Michael “Kalel” Wittig on bass, and Lester Estelle II on drums.
The group is known for a musical style that has incorporated hard rock, rap rock, and alternative metal, and their lyrics frequently explore themes of faith, struggle, and resilience. Since their formation, Pillar has released nine studio albums and three EPs. Their early albums include Above (2000) and Fireproof (2002), the latter featuring the song “Live For Him.” The band’s catalog also includes the singles “Bring Me Down” and “Frontline,” both from 2004, as well as the albums The Reckoning (2006), For the Love of the Game (2008), and One Love Revolution (2015).
Pillar’s work has received recognition within the Christian music industry. The band earned Dove Awards for Hard Music Album of the Year in 2001, 2002, and 2003, and a Dove Award for Hard Music Recorded Song of the Year in 2002.
