Casting Crowns is an American contemporary Christian and Christian rock band formed in 1999 in Daytona Beach, Florida, founded by lead vocalist and songwriter Mark Hall, who serves as a youth pastor. The group relocated to McDonough, Georgia, in 2001, and several band members have served as ministers at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church there. Their music is characterized by biblically inspired lyrics addressing themes of faith, redemption, and Christian struggles. The band was discovered by contemporary Christian artist Steven Curtis Chapman and signed to Beach Street Records.
Casting Crowns has balanced a professional music career with ongoing commitments to local church ministry.
