ChristCentric

ChristCentric is a Christian hip-hop group based in Germantown, Maryland, formed in 1998. The group was founded by members Evangel and Q-D.O.G., and producer The Apologist joined shortly after. Over the years, the group’s lineup has included The Apologist, Evangel, Chrys Jones, Israel Felix, and Doctrynal.

ChristCentric describes its musical style as “didactic music,” meaning it is designed to preach, teach, and defend the message of Jesus Christ through hip-hop. The group’s ministry focuses on grounding believers in sound doctrine and evangelizing the lost. Their performances have taken them to youth rallies, local church services, and detention centers, reflecting their commitment to sharing the gospel in a variety of settings.

The group has released a series of albums that align with its teaching-oriented approach. These include Mind of Christ (2002), Reformation (2004), City of God (2006), Didactic Music Vol. 1 (2009), The Ephesians Project (2011), The Jude Injunction (Didactic Music Vol. 2) (2013), Romans Vol. 1 (2017), and The James Initiative (2019). Each project continues ChristCentric’s mission of using hip-hop as a platform for theological instruction and gospel-centered ministry.
