About Tye Tribbett
Tye Tribbett was born on January 26, 1976, in Camden, New Jersey, and was raised in the Apostolic Pentecostal El Bethel Church, where his father served as pastor and his mother as choir director. He grew into a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and choir director, and in 1996 he founded the gospel choir Tye Tribbett & G.A. (Greater Anointing).
Before launching his solo career, Tribbett toured and recorded as a background vocalist for a range of mainstream artists, including Faith Hill, Will Smith, Usher, and Justin Timberlake. He released his first album, Life, in 2004, followed by Victory Live! (2006) and Stand Out (2008). He began his solo career in 2010 with the album Fresh.
Over the next several years, Tribbett continued to record, releasing Greater Than (2013), The Bloody Win (2017), and All Things New (2022). He won three Grammy Awards for Best Gospel Album: in 2014 for Greater Than (along with the Grammy for Best Gospel Song that same year for "If He Did It Before... Same God") and again in 2024 for All Things New: Live in Orlando.
Alongside his recording career, Tribbett and his wife, Shanté Tribbett, are the co-founders and pastors of Live Church in Orlando, Florida, where he continues to serve in both music and ministry.
