Alice Kamande

Alice Kamande is a Kenyan gospel singer, songwriter, fashion designer, and choreographer who has built a multifaceted career in Christian music and creative arts. Born on June 15, 1986, in Kenya, she began writing her own songs while still in high school, laying the foundation for her future in music.

Before pursuing music full-time, Kamande worked as a banker. Her breakthrough in the industry came in 2009 with the release of her debut single, “Ni Wewe” (also referred to as “Wewe Pekee”), which brought her to public attention. She is a relative and mentee of music producer Robert “R-Kay” Kamanzi, who has played a significant role in her artistic development.

Kamande’s recorded catalog includes the 2015 album “Omba,” as well as songs such as “Sambaza,” “Upendo Ule Ule,” “Zaidi,” and “Tayari.” In addition to her music work, she founded the DareDream programme, an initiative that reflects her broader vision for mentorship and creative expression.

Her contributions to gospel music have earned recognition within the industry. She was nominated for Female Artist of the Year at the 2011 Groove Awards and received a nomination for Best Female Artist at the East African Music Awards. Kamande continues to serve as a singer, songwriter, and creative professional in the Kenyan gospel scene.
