About CityAlight
CityAlight is a music ministry that grew out of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Castle Hill, Sydney, Australia, and was established with the goal of writing songs for the Christian church that combine biblically rich lyrics with simple, singable melodies. The ministry’s songwriting process includes a review panel to help ensure biblical accuracy, and key songwriters associated with CityAlight are Richard Thompson and Jonny Robinson.
The ministry began releasing music around 2014–2015, with early recordings including the album Yours Alone (2015) and the song Only a Holy God (2016). Their catalog grew to include Yet Not I but Through Christ in Me (2018), There Is One Gospel (2022), and His Glory and My Good (2024). In 2025, they released The God We Love (The Nicene Creed).
As part of its ministry to the wider church, CityAlight makes its lyrics and music charts available for free, a practice that reflects its foundation as a congregational songwriting effort rather than a commercial enterprise.
