About Michael O'Brien
Michael O'Brien is a Christian musician, singer, songwriter, and worship leader. He was born Michael David O'Brien on August 23, 1964, in Miami, Florida. Early in his career, he was a touring member of the Heritage Singers before joining the Christian band NewSong in 1999.
O'Brien served as the lead singer for NewSong from 1999 to 2006. Following his time with the group, he pursued a solo career in music ministry starting in 2006. His recorded catalog includes the albums Someone Needs to Tell Them (1990), Michael O'Brien (1995), Conviction (1996), Godspeed (1998), Something About Us (2007), Be Still My Soul (2010), Christ'mas (2013), and Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs (2015).
O'Brien has been married to his wife, Heidi, since March 3, 1989. The couple resides in Columbia, Tennessee. In addition to his music ministry, he has been involved in marriage enrichment ministry, including events known as Tour De Romance.
