About Deborah Lukalu
Deborah Lukalu is a Congolese-born gospel singer and songwriter. She was born in Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo, and moved to South Africa with her family at age nine, growing up in Johannesburg. She began singing in church choirs as a child and committed her life to Christ at age fourteen. Later she studied marketing management at the University of Johannesburg and also studied fashion and design.
Lukalu launched her professional music career in 2015 with the EP Law Breaker. She followed with the album Overflow in 2016 and the album Call Me Favour in 2019. Her singles include “We Testify,” “Nous Témoignerons,” “Je sais,” and “Pamoja.” In 2021 she signed an ambassadorship contract with the Maajabu Gospel production company and has also served as a jury member for the Maajabu Talent Christian competition. She founded her own record label, DL Ministries. In 2023 she released the album Trust in the Storm.
Lukalu currently resides in Atlanta, USA, with her husband, Cedric Kaseba, and their children. In 2016 she was named Best Congolese Female Gospel Singer of the Year in South Africa.
