Meaning & Inspiration
Na Pesa Yo Nini is a multilingual worship song, sung in Lingala, Swahili and English, that asks what can be offered to God in return for all He has done. The chorus, whose Lingala opening can be read as "What shall I give You for all You have done," adds the Swahili question "Who is like You under the sun," and calls Him the living Father who lives forever.
The Lingala verse speaks of lifting hands and hope placed in Him, and of finding the way again and seeing Him. The English second verse says He stopped the storm, assured the singer that all would be okay, and is the Alpha and Omega and the author and finisher of faith. The bridge repeats short calls of praise and ends with glory to Jesus. The themes follow Psalm 116:12 on what to render to the Lord, Exodus 15:11 on there being none like Him, and Hebrews 12:2 on Jesus as author and finisher of faith. The mixed languages and repeated chorus give the song a grateful, adoring tone.
