About Walter Chilambo
Walter Chilambo is a Tanzanian gospel singer, songwriter, and minister. Born on March 13, 1992, in Tanzania, he first gained national attention after winning the Bongo Star Search competition in 2012. He began his professional music career as a contemporary secular artist.
Chilambo’s life took a significant turn in 2016 when he experienced a religious conversion at Victory Christian Centre. Following that event, he shifted his focus entirely to creating gospel music. His sound incorporates a blend of genres including RnB, Amapiano, Afrobeats, and Zouk, reflecting his diverse musical background.
In addition to being a singer and songwriter, Chilambo is also a producer and live performer who plays the piano. His debut album is titled "Ushuhuda" (Testimony). He has released several albums, including "Thank You Lord" in 2021 and "I'm Blessed" in 2023. Among his singles are "Only You," "Inatosha," "Unaniona," "Noel" (2022), and "On Top" (2025). Chilambo’s journey from a secular artist to a gospel minister stands as a central theme of his career, using his songwriting and production skills to share messages of faith and hope.
