About Benjamin Dube
Benjamin Dube was born on January 23, 1962, in Johannesburg, South Africa, and is a gospel recording artist, songwriter, producer, and the lead pastor and General Overseer of High Praise Centre in South Africa. He began his musical career as a child, performing with his siblings and parents in the Dube Family Singers.
Dube launched his solo career in 1986 with the single “Holy Spirit.” A multi-instrumentalist, he plays guitar, piano, and drums. He founded the Dube Connection label to produce his own music and develop other artists. Beyond recording, he has been involved in ministry initiatives, including founding Artist Hope Arise (AHA) and co-founding God’s Worshipers Convocation (GWC).
Over the years, Dube has released numerous albums, many achieving gold or platinum status in South Africa. His releases include Celebration (1994), I Feel Like Going On (2000), Oh! Bless Our God (2004), and In His Presence (2007). The album In His Presence (2008) was certified double platinum and won a South African Music Award for Best Urban Gospel. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2009 Crown Gospel Music Awards.
Later albums in his catalog include Healing in His Presence (2012), Victorious in His Presence (2017), and Legendary in His Presence (2023). Through his music, pastoral work, and mentorship, Dube has maintained a steady presence in South African gospel music.
