“Nobody” by Deborah Lukalu is a call-and-response declaration built on one question asked many ways: who can battle with the Lord? Each question is answered with “nobody,” whether it asks who can defeat the great I Am, challenge the Lion of Judah, defeat the King of kings, or say no when He says yes. A Zulu section asks “Ubani ongamelana no Jehovah?” and answers “Akekho,” which means “Who can stand against Jehovah? No one.”
The titles and claims draw on Scripture: the great I Am recalls Exodus 3:14, the Lion of Judah is from Revelation 5:5, and King of kings appears in Revelation 19:16. The line that no one can say no when God says yes is close to Isaiah 43:13 and Daniel 4:35, which speak of God’s hand that no one can reverse.
