The Quiet Science

The Quiet Science is an American Christian music band formed in 2008 in Merritt Island, Florida. The group is built around the husband-and-wife duo of Mark Nathan Walter and Daisy Elisabeth Walter, and their sound is often described as indie, pop rock, or alternative, with ethereal and story-driven qualities. The band has released three full-length studio albums and one EP: He Calls Me Diamonds (2009), [With/Without] (2010), Dark Words on Dark Wings (2011), and The Rekindling of the Stars (2016).

The Quiet Science’s third album, The Rekindling of the Stars, is noted for its focus on themes of restoration and worship, reflecting a deepening of their creative direction. Over the years, the band has toured alongside artists including Switchfoot, Showbread, and Sleeping At Last. Their music has also been featured in outlets such as Relevant Magazine, Alternative Press, and HM Magazine.

Songs from their catalog include “A Dying Breed,” “Bonfires,” “Defiant Joy (White Horse),” and the later worship-oriented single “God of Every Moment (A Song of Job)” released in 2025.
