J.R., born Courtney Orlando on March 4, 1979, is an American singer and producer from St. Louis, Missouri. He was formerly a Christian hip-hop artist signed to Cross Movement Records, and during that period he was a member of the production team So Hot Productions alongside N.A.B. Orlando frequently appeared on songs by fellow Christian hip-hop artists such as FLAME and Da' T.R.U.T.H.
His album catalog from that era includes Metamorphosis (2005) and Life by Stereo (2007). Orlando’s work placed him within the active Christian hip-hop scene of the mid-2000s, contributing to the genre's growth through both his own releases and collaborations with other artists on the Cross Movement roster.
In September 2024, Orlando publicly announced his departure from Christianity.
