Fellowship Chicago

Fellowship Chicago is a gospel choir based at the Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois. The choir has a long musical tradition, having released numerous albums under the leadership of the late Reverend Clay Evans. In 2010, Pastor Charles Jenkins took over leadership of the group, guiding the choir into the urban contemporary gospel genre while retaining its roots in traditional worship. The choir’s music is intended to serve as a resource for church worship.

The group gained national recognition with the single “Awesome,” which reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart and remained there for 22 weeks. Their album The Best of Both Worlds held the No. 1 position on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart for three consecutive weeks. In 2013, Fellowship Chicago won five Stellar Gospel Music Awards, including Choir of the Year and Traditional Choir of the Year.

Other songs in the choir’s catalog include “#WAR,” “Grace,” “He’ll Make It Alright,” “Keep the Faith,” and “Can’t Turn Back.” Through their recordings, Fellowship Chicago continues to offer gospel music grounded in the church’s heritage and designed for congregational worship.
