Loyiso Bala

Loyiso Bala is a South African gospel and R&B artist who has built a career that spans performance, media leadership, and advocacy. Born on September 22, 1979, in Kariega, Eastern Cape, he received classical training at the Drakensberg Boys’ Choir School and served as the youngest conductor of the National Youth Choir at age nineteen. He is also a member of the vocal trio the Bala Brothers, alongside his siblings Zwai and Phelo.

After launching his solo career in the early 2000s, Bala initially gained prominence in R&B with albums such as Wine, Woman and Song (2003) and Amplified (2005). In 2012, he released a live Christian music DVD and CD titled Love Complete, marking a clear turn toward gospel work. He followed with the album Power Love Sound in 2014 and released the single “Do It Again” in 2023.

Beyond performing, Bala has served as a Channel Director for TBN Africa and as a Business Manager at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC). He holds an MBA from Henley Business School Africa and has served as a UNAIDS National Goodwill Ambassador. His work has earned multiple South African Music Awards and Metro FM Awards.
