About Unspoken

Unspoken is an American contemporary Christian band known for blending worship music with pop, soul, and Latin influences. The group was formed after lead singer Chad Mattson met original guitarist Mike Gomez on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic. Over time, the band’s lineup has included Chad Mattson, Jon Lowry, Ariel Munoz, Matthew Callaway, and Tim Dillon.

The band operates with a mission to serve as “unspoken testimonies to God’s love and power.” Chad Mattson has spoken publicly about his past struggles with addiction and his journey to sobriety, grounding the group’s message in personal experience. Their debut single, “Who You Are,” was released in 2012 on the Centricity Music label.

Unspoken released their self-titled debut album in 2014, which reached No. 9 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart. The album “Follow Through” followed in 2016, debuting at No. 7 on the same chart. Their song “Start a Fire” reached No. 1 on Christian radio charts, and the band has achieved multiple top-five Christian Adult Contemporary singles. Their 2019 album “Reason” includes the title track “Reason” and other songs such as “Good Fight,” “Lift My Life Up,” and the earlier hit “Start a Fire.”

The band has toured with several notable Christian artists, including Casting Crowns, TobyMac, and Big Daddy Weave, continuing to share their music and testimony through live performances.
