About Elevation Worship
Elevation Worship is a contemporary worship music collective that serves as the official worship ministry of Elevation Church, a Christian church based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The group originated in 2007 at Elevation Church, which was founded by lead pastor Steven Furtick. The collective's songwriting team has been anchored by Furtick and worship leader Chris Brown. Over the years, the group's membership has shifted, with various vocalists and instrumentalists contributing to their projects.
Elevation Worship releases music through their own label, Elevation Worship Records, and has previously worked with Essential Records. The group is known for performing live worship music in church services as well as touring nationally. Their catalog includes songs such as “Give Me Faith,” “O Come to the Altar,” and “Do It Again.” The album Graves Into Gardens and its title track helped expand their reach, as did the collaboration “The Blessing” with Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes. The collective has also worked with Maverick City Music on the joint project Old Church Basement, and has released albums including Lion and Can You Imagine?
Elevation Worship has sold over 1.5 million albums in the United States. The group won the 2021 Billboard Music Award for Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Song for “Graves Into Gardens.” In 2024, they received three Billboard Music Awards: Top Christian Artist, Top Christian Album for Can You Imagine?, and Top Christian Song for “Praise.” As of 2024, the collective has earned one Grammy Award and eight GMA Dove Awards.
