Elevation Worship + Brandon Lake - Won't Stop Now Lyrics
Lyrics
I give You glory
For all You’ve brought me through
And now I’m ready
For whatever You wanna do
I'm moving forward
To follow after You
And now I’m ready
For whatever You wanna do
[Chorus]
Your presence
Is an open door
We want You Lord like never before
Your presence
Is an open door
So come now Lord like never before
In every season
Your grace has been enough
And I’m believing
The best is yet to come
The cross before me
My hope on things above
And in You Jesus
The best is yet to come
[Chorus]
Your presence
Is an open door
We want You Lord like never before
Your presence
Is an open door
So come now Lord like never before
[Bridge]
I know breakthrough is coming
By faith I see a miracle
My God made me a promise
And it won’t stop now
[Chorus]
Your presence
Is an open door
We want You Lord like never before
Your presence
Is an open door
So come now Lord like never before

Meaning & Inspiration
I keep playing this song from Hallelujah Here Below in my car, and honestly, it pulls me in two different directions. There’s this line about how "the cross is before me" and "my hope is on things above," which feels exactly like what Paul was talking about in Colossians when he tells us to set our minds on what’s actually eternal, not just what’s happening in front of our faces right now. It feels right to anchor everything there. But then the song shifts, and it starts talking about breakthrough and miracles, and I have to stop and ask if I’m just singing about what I want God to do or if I’m actually focused on who He is.
I think about the bridge—that part about how God made a promise and it won’t stop now. It’s catchy, but it makes me feel a little twitchy. I know we have the promises of God in Scripture, like how He who began a good work is going to see it through, but sometimes I worry that we treat those promises like they’re just waiting to be cashed in for the next big thing we want to see happen. Is my faith actually in the God who gives the promise, or is it just in the breakthrough I’m expecting? I don’t know. Maybe it’s both, or maybe I’m just projecting my own impatience onto the lyrics.
When they sing about His presence being an open door, it reminds me of Jesus saying He is the way, the gate. That part feels solid. But I keep wondering if I’m really ready for "whatever You wanna do" like the song says, or if I’m just bracing myself for the version of "whatever" that looks like success or a change in my circumstances. It’s easy to say those words when the music is swelling, but it’s harder when the breakthrough isn’t showing up. I’m still trying to figure out if this song is pushing me toward a deeper surrender or if I’m just using it to hype myself up for a miracle I’ve decided I need.
