About Jeremy Camp
Jeremy Camp is a contemporary Christian music singer and songwriter whose work is rooted in themes of faith and worship. He was born Jeremy Thomas Camp on January 12, 1978, in Lafayette, Indiana. His father, Tom Camp, was a pastor at Harvest Chapel in Lafayette and taught him to play guitar. Camp studied theology at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, and was ordained as a minister. His music career began in the early 2000s, with his first independent album, Burden Me, released in 2000. His first major label studio album, Stay, followed in 2002.
Over the years Camp has released numerous studio albums, including Restored (2004), Beyond Measure (2006), and Deeper Waters (2024). His catalog also includes projects such as Carried Me: The Worship Project (2004) and Speaking Louder Than Before (2008). Songs like “Walk by Faith” and “I Still Believe” have become well known in Christian music. Camp’s life story, including the loss of his first wife, Melissa, to cancer, was the subject of the 2020 theatrical film I Still Believe, which also shares its name with one of his most recognized songs.
Camp’s career has earned him five GMA Dove Awards and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album for Speaking Louder Than Before in 2010. He has also received three American Music Award nominations and has been named a four-time ASCAP Songwriter of the Year award winner. Additionally, he was recognized by Billboard as the number two Christian artist of the decade.
