About Collen Maluleke
Collen Maluleke is a South African gospel singer-songwriter, worship leader, and pastor. Born on September 10, 1988, he began his professional music career in 2010 and founded the music group Vertical Experience in 2012. His musical style is cross-cultural contemporary Christian music, blending gospel, jazz, rock, and reggae.
Maluleke has served as a member of the gospel collective Spirit of Praise since 2018. His recorded work includes the albums Open Heavens (2015), Grateful (2018), Face 2 Face (2020), and Word + Prayer + Worship (2023), as well as the EP Gandzelo (2020). He has also released singles such as “Song of Breakthrough” and “Shine Jesus Shine - Live.”
In addition to his music, Maluleke has served in pastoral ministry. He was previously an associate pastor at House of Treasures Ministries, and in 2021 he founded and became the lead pastor of Goshen City Church in Westdene, Johannesburg. He describes his music as an extension of his pastoral work, aimed at connecting worship with everyday faith.
Maluleke’s work has been recognized in the South African gospel music scene. His debut album Open Heavens earned four nominations at the 2016 Crown Gospel Music Awards. The album Face 2 Face was nominated for Best Contemporary Faith Album at the South African Music Awards. In 2023, his single “Song of Breakthrough” won Best Worship Song at the Crown Gospel Music Awards.
