Jonathan David and Melissa Helser are a husband-and-wife Christian music duo based in Sophia, North Carolina. They have been members of the Bethel Music collective since 2014. Beyond their work as worship leaders, the Helsers lead a ministry called A Place for the Heart, a discipleship school known as the 18 Inch Journey, and an artist collective called the Cageless Birds.
The duo has released a series of worship albums. Their discography includes Endless Ocean, Bottomless Sea (2014), On the Shores (2015), Beautiful Surrender (2016), We Rise We Bow (2019), The Land I’m Livin’ In (2022), and Let God Come In (2025). Their 2016 album Beautiful Surrender reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart.
The Helsers are known for prominent contributions to contemporary worship music. Their song “No Longer Slaves” won Worship Song of the Year at the 47th Annual GMA Dove Awards in 2016. Another song from their catalog, “Raise A Hallelujah,” reached No. 1 on Christian Billboard charts. Jonathan David Helser was born on September 6, 1978, and Melissa Helser was born on February 19, 1980.
