Joe Nester

Joe Nester (1983–2025) was a Christian singer, songwriter, and musician whose ministry centered on sharing his testimony of recovery from heroin addiction and homelessness—a transformation he credited to his faith in Jesus Christ. Born Joseph William Nester and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, he graduated from Dickinson High School before beginning his journey of Christian faith in 2012.

Nester’s music blended hip-hop, acoustic, country, and rock, reflecting the range of influences that shaped his songwriting. Through his recordings, he openly addressed his past struggles and the hope he found in the Gospel. His album Convict was released in 2023, followed by New Wine in 2024. Among his songs were “FAITHFUL TO YOUR PROMISE” (featuring Rare of Breed), “In Your Presence” (featuring SYL noiZ), “Story of an Addict,” “Fighting With My Demons,” “Letting It Go,” and “10 Toes Down.”

Nester was married to Faith Nester, who served alongside him as his ministry partner. He passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 41. His life and music remain a testament to his message of redemption and his dedication to reaching others with the hope of Christ.
