Dr. R.A. Vernon

Dr. R.A. Vernon is a senior pastor and gospel recording artist who leads worship alongside The Word Church Praise Team. He is the founder and senior pastor of The Word Church, based in Cleveland, Ohio. He holds a Diploma of Theology, a Master of Arts in Practical Theology, and a Doctor of Ministry from Ashland Theological Seminary.

Vernon is also an author, having written several books including Dr. R.A. Vernon's 10 Rules of Dating: The Rules Have Changed. He and his wife, Victory Vernon, have five children. Beyond his local congregation, he founded The Shepherds Connection, a leadership organization for senior pastors, and co-founded The Vernon Family Foundation and R.A. Vernon Ministries.

His music career has focused on live worship recordings with The Word Church Praise Team. He released We're Amazed (Live Worship At "The Word"), Vol. 1 in 2013, followed by We're Amazed, Live Worship at the Word Vol. II Special Edition in 2018. Songs from these projects include “You Covered Me” (Live), “We’re Amazed” (Live), “Pulling Me Through” (Live), “I Made It” (Live), “Thank You, Lord” (Live), and “I’m Free” (Live).
