KB, born Kevin Elijah Burgess on July 21, 1988, in St. Petersburg, Florida, is a Christian hip-hop artist, music executive, and author. He leads the hip-hop group HGA (His Glory Alone) and studied theology at Trinity College of Florida. KB signed with Reach Records in 2010 and later signed with Essential Sound, a Sony Music imprint, in 2020. He co-hosts the podcast Southside Rabbi and authored the book Dangerous Jesus: Why the Only Thing More Risky than Getting Jesus Right Is Getting Jesus Wrong, published in 2023. KB is married to his wife, Michelle, and they have three children.
KB’s early releases include the mixtape Who Is KB? (2011) and the album Weight & Glory (2012). He followed with the EP 100 (2014), which debuted at number one on Billboard’s Christian Album Chart. Its title track won a Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Song of the Year. His subsequent albums Tomorrow We Live (2015), Today We Rebel (2017), and His Glory Alone (2020) each reached number one on Billboard’s Top Christian Albums chart. His Glory Alone also earned him the Dove Award for Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year. He released the single “Armies” in 2020 and the album His Glory Alone II in 2023.
Through his music, leadership with HGA, and writing, KB has consistently centered his work on sharing the Gospel and integrating his theological background into his artistry.
