Joshua Lugendo

Joshua Lugendo is a Tanzanian gospel singer and songwriter whose music is rooted in worship. He was born on December 1, 1990, in Morogoro, Tanzania, and his early musical foundation was formed singing in a Sunday school choir during his youth.

Lugendo began his professional career by recording and performing alongside several notable East African gospel artists, including Paul Clement, Joel Lwaga, and Bella Kombo. He is associated with the EMG record label, which has been a platform for his original work. In 2019, he released the single “Makerubi.” More recently, he was featured on the track “Halisi” by Rehema Simfukwe, released in 2025.
