About Bizzle
Bizzle is an American Christian hip-hop recording artist and entrepreneur. He was born Mark Julian Felder on July 21, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. In 2008 he converted to Christianity; before that conversion he had performed under the name “Playboy.” Following his faith commitment, he founded the record label God Over Money in Houston, Texas.
Bizzle gained significant media attention in 2010 with the song “You Got Some Explaining to Do,” which criticized Jay-Z’s references to Christianity. The same year he released the mixtape The Messenger. His debut album, Tough Love & Parables, arrived in 2011 and debuted at No. 15 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. He followed with the album The Good Fight in 2013, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, No. 7 on Christian Albums, and No. 11 on Top Rap Albums.
In 2014 Bizzle released the song “Same Love (A Response),” which expressed opposition to homosexuality. That year he also released the album Well Wishes, donating its proceeds to build water wells in Mozambique. His subsequent albums include Surrender (2015), Crowns and Crosses (2016), the EP Light Work (2018), and Light Work 2: Bars & Melodies (2019).
In 2013 Bizzle won Kingdom Choice Awards for Rap Single of the Year, Hip Hop Album of the Year, and Music Video of the Year. His catalog continues to reflect the evangelistic focus he carried from his conversion onward, with God Over Money serving as the platform for his music.
