About Audio Adrenaline
Audio Adrenaline formed in 1986 at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky. The band was originally named A-180 before changing to Audio Adrenaline. Original members included Mark Stuart, Barry Blair, Will McGinniss, Bob Herdman, and Brian Hayes. Their music blended rock, pop, and alternative styles with themes of faith, and they became a regular fixture at major Christian music festivals such as Creation Festival and Alive Festival.
The group released a string of albums, starting with their self-titled debut Audio Adrenaline in 1992, followed by Don’t Censor Me in 1993. The single “Big House” from that album became a defining song of the decade, named the CCM Song of the Decade for the 1990s by CCM Magazine. Their 1996 album Bloom was certified Gold by the RIAA in 1999. Subsequent albums included Some Kind of Zombie (1997), Lift (2001), and Worldwide (2003). Worldwide won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album in 2004, and the 2006 album Until My Heart Caves In also won that category.
Audio Adrenaline disbanded in 2007 after Mark Stuart’s vocal health issues forced the end of the original lineup. The band reformed in 2013 with a new lineup that included former dc Talk member Kevin Max as lead vocalist and released Kings & Queens that year. For the 2015 album Sound of the Saints, Adam Agee of Stellar Kart took over as lead vocalist, continuing the band’s legacy within Christian rock.
