The Gratitude COZA

The Gratitude is a contemporary gospel music group founded in 2016 by the leadership of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) in Abuja, Nigeria. The group’s musical style incorporates elements of Afropop, rock, and hip-hop alongside traditional and contemporary gospel sounds. At one stage of its existence, the ensemble featured a reported thirteen-member lineup of vocalists and instrumentalists.

The Gratitude has released several recordings, including the EP Ten Thousand Tongues and the singles “Testimony,” “Oh Ya Love,” “Da Blood,” and “Siyabonga.” The group also produced the album Hello World. In addition to its own releases, the group has collaborated with other gospel artists, including Judikay and Chidinma. The Gratitude’s activities have frequently been associated with COZA ministry events, such as Christmas carols and annual programs.

In 2019, The Gratitude was recognized with the UK Gospel Touch Music Award for Choir/Group of the Year. The award highlighted the group’s place within the Nigerian gospel music scene and its work emerging from the COZA ministry context.
