Worship Awake

Worship Awake is a Christian worship movement based in South Africa that brings together worship leaders from across the country. The movement grew out of an earlier initiative called “Worship South Africa,” which was started by Christelle Combrink (known as Stella) during the COVID-19 pandemic. As the project developed, it transitioned into Worship Awake, evolving into a collective that emphasizes unity in worship.

The movement is known for hosting songwriting retreats and conducting regular live worship sessions. Its music is produced and recorded in South Africa and often features a variety of guest vocalists. Recorded songs in the Worship Awake catalog include “This Is Who You Are (Live),” “My Worship Awakes (Holy)” (featuring Stella), “Sing His Name,” “Behold the Joy (Live)” (featuring Vonja du Preez), and “Break the Bread” (featuring James Pringle and Langa Mbonambi).

Through its gatherings and recorded worship, Worship Awake continues to create original music rooted in a community of believers.
