About Janet Paschal
Janet Paschal is a recognized gospel vocalist, songwriter, and author whose career in Christian music has spanned decades. She was born on October 18, 1956, in Reidsville, North Carolina, and began her professional journey after high school, singing for The LeFevres, the group that later became The Rex Nelon Singers. In 1982, she started serving as a soloist for Jimmy Swaggart’s international crusades. She later became a featured artist on the Gaither Homecoming Tour and video series, bringing her voice to audiences worldwide.
Paschal built a catalog of recorded music that includes the album I Give You Jesus and songs such as “Take These Burdens,” “Hide Me Sweet Rock of Ages,” “Another Soldier’s Coming Home,” “God Will Make A Way,” “The Body and Blood,” “If I’d Had My Way,” and “In The Fire.” Her work has earned multiple Grammy Award nominations, multiple Dove Award nominations, and multiple Diamond Awards (Singing News Fan Awards). In 2019, she was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame, and in 2022, she was inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
Beyond her music, Paschal is also an author, having written books including The Good Road (1997) and Treasures of the Snow (2008). A breast cancer survivor, she has engaged in cancer awareness advocacy, sharing her personal journey alongside her artistic ministry.
