About Deitrick Haddon
Deitrick Haddon is a gospel singer, songwriter, and pastor whose work has earned him multiple chart-topping albums and industry honors. He was born Deitrick Vaughn Haddon on May 17, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan, to Bishop Clarence Haddon and Joyce Haddon, both of whom were ministers. He began preaching at age 11 and served as a choir director at his family’s church by age 13.
In the 1990s, Haddon founded the gospel group Voices of Unity. He launched his solo career in 2002 with the album Lost & Found, followed by albums including 7 Days (2006), Church on the Moon (2011), R.E.D. (2013), and Masterpiece (2015). His catalog includes songs such as “Sinner’s Prayer,” “Love Him Like I Do,” and “Never Be The Same.” Five of his albums have reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart.
Beyond music, Haddon serves as the founder and lead pastor of Hill City Church in Los Angeles. He appeared as a cast member on the reality television series Preachers of L.A. and has produced and starred in independent films, including Blessed and Cursed and Sins of the Father.
Haddon’s work has been recognized with several awards. He is a multi-time Stellar Award winner, a three-time BET Award winner, and a three-time NAACP Award winner. He has also received multiple Grammy Award nominations and multiple GMA Dove Award nominations.
