Jason Crabb

Jason Crabb is an American Christian and Southern Gospel singer who first gained attention as the lead vocalist of the family group The Crabb Family before launching a successful solo career. Born on March 3, 1977, in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, he grew up surrounded by gospel music and began performing early in life. After years with The Crabb Family, he stepped out on his own in 2009 with the release of his self-titled debut album.

That debut collection, Jason Crabb, earned him his first Grammy Award in 2010 for Best Southern/Country/Bluegrass Gospel Album. He has since released several solo projects, including Because It’s Christmas (2010), Love Is Stronger (2013), Whatever the Road (2015), Unexpected (2018), and Miracle in a Manger (2022). The album Unexpected won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Roots Gospel Album. His singles “Good Morning Mercy” (2023) and “God Can Use a Broken Man” (2024) have further extended his reach, with “Good Morning Mercy” winning the 2023 Bluegrass/Country/Roots Recorded Song of the Year award.

Over his career, Crabb has received more than twenty GMA Dove Awards, including honors for Artist of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year. He has been inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, and his hometown of Beaver Dam honored him by naming a street “Jason Crabb Drive.” In addition to recording, he has authored the book Trusting God to Get You Through: Lessons I’ve Learned Through the Fire About Grace, Loss and Love (2011) and made television appearances on NBC’s Celebrity Apprentice and TBN broadcasts. He has performed at notable venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry, reflecting a career that spans both the Southern Gospel and broader Christian music worlds.
