About Family Force 5
Family Force 5 is an American Christian rock and crunk rock band formed in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2004. The group was founded by brothers Solomon “Soul Glow Activatur” Olds, Joshua “Fatty” Olds, and Jacob “Crouton” Olds, along with Nathan “Nadaddy” Currin and Brad “20 Cent” Allen. Their musical style blends rock, dance, pop, hip-hop, and crunk influences.
The band released its debut studio album, Business Up Front/Party in the Back, in 2006. The album won “Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year” at the 2007 GMA Dove Awards. In 2008, Family Force 5 won “Best Christian Rock Artist,” “Best Crunk Rock/Rap Artist,” and “Best Rock Album” at the Rock on Request Awards. The group went on to release several albums, including Dance or Die (2008), Christmas Pageant (2009), III (2011), and Time Stands Still (2014).
In 2013, Solomon Olds departed the band, and Jacob Olds took over lead vocal duties. In 2015, the single “Let It Be Love” reached No. 1 on the Billboard CCM Hot AC/CHR Chart. In 2018, remaining members Jacob and Joshua Olds rebranded as FF5 and released the EP El Compadre. Family Force 5 performed at a variety of events, including the Vans Warped Tour and the Rock and Worship Roadshow.
