About Mercy Masika
Mercy Masika Muguro is a Kenyan gospel musician, songwriter, and worship minister at Jubilee Christian Church (JCC) in Kenya. Born on April 26, 1983, in Machakos, Kenya, she began her music career at a young age, releasing her first album, Nobody Like Jesus, in 1995. She later attended Daystar University, where she studied Education.
Her music, noted for its focus on faith, hope, and the word of God, has produced songs such as “Mwema,” “Nikupendeze,” “Shule Yako,” and “Huyu Yesu.” She has also released albums including Zaidi and Wendo Waku, along with tracks like “Upendo” and “Wastahili.” Her work earned her recognition at the Groove Awards, where she was named Female Artist of the Year in 2016 and 2017 and won Song of the Year in 2016. She also received Boomplay plaques for exceeding 5 million cumulative streams and for 2 million streams on the album Zaidi.
In 2019, Mercy Masika was appointed as a national Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Kenya. She is married to David Tim Muguro, and together they have children. Her career continues to reflect her commitment to ministry through music and humanitarian service.
