About Darlene Zhchech
Darlene Zschech is an Australian Pentecostal Christian worship leader, singer, and songwriter. She began her career as a child performer on the Australian television show Happy Go Round. She served as the worship pastor of Hillsong Church from 1996 to 2007, and during her tenure she produced or executive produced more than 20 albums under the Hillsong Music label.
Zschech is best known for writing and recording the song “Shout to the Lord,” which received Dove Award nominations for Song of the Year in 1998 and Album of the Year in 1997. She was also nominated for Dove Award Songwriter of the Year in 2000 and received the International Award for influence in praise and worship that same year. In addition to “Shout to the Lord,” her catalog includes songs such as “Victor’s Crown” and “Cry of the Broken.”
Beyond her work with Hillsong, Zschech has released several solo albums, including Kiss of Heaven, Change Your World, You Are Love, Revealing Jesus, and Testament. She is also a contributing songwriter with the charity CompassionArt. Zschech has authored books including Worship, Extravagant Worship, and Revealing Jesus. Today she serves as senior pastor of Hope Unlimited Church in New South Wales, Australia, alongside her husband, Mark Zschech.
