Terrell Carter

Terrell Carter is a singer, songwriter, actor, and pastor whose career has spanned gospel music, mainstream entertainment, and ministry. Born in Buffalo, New York, on August 13, 1975, he first gained musical experience early on by touring for five years with Fred Hammond and the group Radical for Christ. That foundation in gospel music led to work as a songwriter and vocalist with artists including Patti LaBelle, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, and Christina Aguilera.

Carter’s acting career grew through his appearances in Tyler Perry productions. He appeared in the film Diary of a Mad Black Woman and in Perry’s stage plays Madea’s Class Reunion and Meet the Browns. He has also been seen on television series such as Empire, Shooter, and Beauty in Black.

Alongside his entertainment work, Carter has served as a pastor and is an author of multiple books. His music releases include the albums Carlela’s Reign, Something in the Water: Life, Lessons and Redemption, Vol 1, and Mr. Carter. His song catalog includes tracks such as “Father Can You Hear Me” and “Walk By Faith.”
